We are changing the way we teach because children are changing the way they learn.

CURRICULUM

Our education experts have designed a balanced and comprehensive academic program that meets the educational needs of students at every stage of their personal and academic development. The curriculum meets with both Mexican SEP and Alberta’s Ministry of Education requirements.

The province of Alberta, Canada, has one of the finest educational systems in the world. At Canadian School we are proud to have implemented its curricula as the core of our program.

Our academic program meets all of the Mexican education system standards and is incorporated into the SEP.

REGGIO EMILIA

The preschool program at the Canadian School is inspired on the Reggio Emilia approach, that focuses on the creation of a learning environment that enhances and facilitates a child’s way of thinking and where their senses are stimulated.

With the Reggio Emilia approach, children are endowed with multiple languages (e.g. painting, sculpting, drama, etc.) therefore our program is based on inquiry, investigation and discovery. It´s a place where children lead the way and where teachers explore the child’s interest, their natural curiosity and sense of wonder.

ENGLISH IMMERSION PROGRAM

Our program uses English for instruction and as a means of communication. This authentic communication allows students to learn a second language in a similar manner to the way that they have learned their first language. As early as toddlers, our students adopt English as the primary language for communication and learning.

TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR THE 21st CENTURY

Twenty-First Century learning means that students need to master content while producing, synthesizing and evaluating information from a wide variety of subjects and sources. Our innovative technology program, with up to date equipment, allows the student learning   in many ways, anytime and anywhere.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING

At Canadian School we use the most up to date teaching practices to maximize student learning. Students learn by doing, in a collaborative learner-centered environment, integrating project based, real world events and infusing technology. Teachers provide immediate/useful feedback and meaningful, formative and diagnostic assessments.

SUPPORTING STUDENT SUCCESS

We are committed to achieve success for every student.  Our professional staff of psychologists and learning specialists assist students to optimize their learning.  The Student Services Department provides a multidisciplinary approach to address student needs (academic, social and/or emotional). The team works in collaboration with students, teachers, professionals and parents to support the whole child.

WELL ROUNDED EDUCATION

Outside our classrooms, our students are engaged in a varied and rich selection of extended curricular activities that promote greater peer interaction, cooperation, connection to school and build student-adult relationships. Through our programmes, we develop not just great academic students but happy and healthy students who have the skills to thrive, wherever their future takes them.
